My first overseas adventure – Singapore (19th September 2014).
The announcement of a trip to Singapore brought up visions in my mind of Skyscrapers, Beaches, Marina Bay Sands etc.
About Singapore
Singapore is a great place to visit in its own right. Singapore, an island city-state off southern Malaysia, with a tropical climate and multicultural population.  Singapore is also known for eclectic street fare, served in hawker centers such as Tiong Bahru and Maxwell Road.
Location For Stay
Singapore is safe enough to live anywhere, and it doesn’t matter if you even staying far as the transportation across the country is awesome.
Well for Solo Travelers, they can take lodge nearby Chinatown or Changi Road.
Chinatown and Little India have a wide variety of budget options and hostels.  Lavender and Jalan Besar are full of small budget hotels and hostels for solo travelers. Dhoby Ghaut and Bugis have many mid-range hotels. ​
For family or couples there are many 4-5 star hotels in the Marina Bay areas.  City Hall is central and very popular.  Clarke Quay gives easy access to the Riverside and Chinatown.Singapore Weather
Hot and humid, average temp. is 27 degree Celsius throughout the year with one degree cooler or warmer towards or away from the monsoon season (northeast season begins Dec to Mar, southwest from Jun to Sep, Apr and May being dry and the hottest month in SIN).Shopping in Singapore
Chinatown has a mixture of touristy souvenirs of key-chains, mugs, T-shirts as well as nice
Chinese handicrafts like beaded evening bags and shoes, fans, antique Chinese home decorative items, silk scarves, etc.

Little India for authentic Indian spices, jewelry and fabric
Singapore museum shop has quite a few unique gifts and souvenirs

Good and efficient, clean and safe. Definitely a great way to explore Singapore. Consider the use of an EZ-link card when using public transport to get around. Easy and very handy to use. No need to fumble for exact change to buy a ticket. These can be replenished/topped up as necessary at the MRT station.
Foods To Explore
Singapore’s multi-ethnic culture and heritage has served up a multitude of colorful cuisines, each with its own unique flavor and aroma.

You can visit Clarke Quay and Boat Quay at night to explore best foods in Singapore and riverside nightlife.

Communications and Free WiFi Zone in Singapore

Well where you’re in Singapore you have many places for free WiFi Zone (Major MRT Stations, Mc Donald’s, Malls)
Singtel, Starhub and M1 each have various prepaid SIM cards. You will need your passport to purchase a SIM.
